There has been an increased awareness of the need for diversity in our organizations and on our boards of directors. Questions that should have been asked a long time ago are now being asked.

A person who attended one of my sessions asked – “How do we plan for diversity on our board?” I love the question, and the answer is just that “to plan for it”.

More specifically, here’s what you can do:

  1. Assess your board
  2. Set goals for diversity
  3. Prioritize diversity when you have an opening on your board.
